Chris developed and produced the children’s musical Beatrice’s Goat with renowned director, screenwriter, animator and playwright Roger Allers (Lion King, The Prophet). His plays The Gospel of Cyrus According to Cyrus, Rubberville, and The Asthma Conspiracy have been developed and produced with SoHo Rep, HERE, OVO, and Theater for the New City and more.
In Spring 2015, along with Jen Chapin, Norma Chartoff, and Chip Scott, Chris produced "Forged in Fire," a unique theatrical collaboration between Ugandan performance artist Okello Sam, Cause Effect Agency, CityTech Theaterworks, City Tech's Entertainment Technology Department and director Kevin R. Free.
FORGED IN FIRE is an original musical work by Okello Sam that tells the story of Okello's brother Godfrey, abducted as a child by soldiers of the still-at-large warlord Joseph Kony. Okello employs humor, song and dance to weave a narrative collage of his brother’s tale with memorable sketches of everyday Ugandan life and a journey through a landscape fractured by war.
Press coverage included this story in the Wall Street Journal. Okello's fans Forest Whitaker, Susan Sarandon, Mary-Louise Parker, Hunter Parrish, Elaine Weidemann and others came from around the world to see the limited engagement.
